Project presentation
The client has initiated an ambitious upgrade of the information system (IS) for its Jules Horowitz Reactor (RJH) project, an experimental reactor dedicated to the research and production of radioisotopes. The aim is to equip the project with more powerful and interconnected digital solutions, to enhance the efficiency and robustness of operations (design, construction and ultimately operation). Following an initial assignment in 2023, which laid the foundations for a target IS architecture, Assystem is now working with the client over a four-year period (2025-2028) to steer the digital transformation of the RJH IS. This programme aims to rethink the use of tools while optimising business processes.
Project Scope
Assystem will lead the digital transformation of the RJH project's information system through four main areas of intervention in order to guarantee the client the evolution of the information system towards a robust and sustainable architecture:
- Overall management of the programme, with the introduction of agile governance and supervision of the various IS projects, guaranteeing overall functional and application consistency.
- Functional management focuses on specifying business requirements, drafting specifications, assisting with the selection of integrators and ongoing IS modelling.
- Managing change by developing a tailor-made support strategy, accompanied by appropriate communication plans, to ensure that all stakeholders are on board.
- Support for the design, deployment and securing of data flows via the integration of the middleware platform, in order to guarantee interoperability and digital continuity for the main project data between the different project software.
Client benefits
- Centralised and collaborative information system: Assystem is implementing a unified architecture that simplifies data management and strengthens collaboration between teams.
- Better data management: Thanks to secure and reliable data flows between software applications, information should circulate efficiently, guaranteeing digital continuity and limiting data re-entry.
- A focus on high added-value priorities: By modelling requirements and prioritising them according to their impact, Assystem helps the client to concentrate its efforts on high added-value initiatives (quick-win).
- Effective change management: By proposing a clear strategy and appropriate plans, Assystem aims to facilitate the adoption of new tools and processes by all stakeholders.
- Clear and structured management: Assystem is working jointly with the RJH project's methods and tools department to guarantee rigorous and agile coordination, providing a global and controlled vision of the programme.
