Environmental and Social Impact Assessment Study for an airport
CONTEXT AND CHALLENGES
The airport development project involves a construction and operation of a Fixed-Based Operator (FBO) terminal and the aircraft hangar in an international airport.
The purpose of the FBO terminal and the aircraft hangar is to provide dedicated services to private jet passengers and operators. The project will consist of a terminal building, 2 hangars and apron areas within the airport perimeter. The project will be developed in phases, starting with 1 hangar and a small apron area (2022), followed by a terminal building, and additional hangar and further apron (2024).
Assystem is awarded conduct an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) for the international airport.
Missions
- Review all existing environmental, socio-economic, community pressing needs and cultural heritage baseline data and Project related information;
- Review existing information with the aim to identify existing impacts within the project areas;
- Site investigations to update baseline studies as required to meet the requirements;
- Baseline measurements including air quality, noise levels, groundwater quality and terrestrial ecology including bird surveys;
- International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) requirements will be taken into consideration during air quality modelling;
- Develop an impact assessment methodology that will be acceptable in terms of local legislative requirements;
- Review and evaluation of the design for the project site according to the local/regional environmental regulatory authority.
