Anti-intrusion protection for railway sites
Context and challenges
Our client is a major player in the railway industry. It wished to strengthen the protection of its infrastructures against break-ins, acts of vandalism and other threats to sites.
The protection is focused on the infrastructures.
The present agreement had the following goals:
- Deploy a centralised monitoring system to increase surveillance capabilities to up to 100 sites
- Install protection equipment (intrusion detection, video surveillance) for new sites, and integrate them into the existing system
With these goals in mind, the client called on Assystem to implement a safety system primarily comprising intrusion detection and video surveillance equipment, with the entire system supervised from the Central Security Control Room (CSCR).
Project scope
Assystem was commissioned to carry out studies and implement the central surveillance system as part of the client's information systems master plan and, in particular, the new video structure currently being deployed.
For each site, this means carrying out:
- Preliminary site studies to adapt the detection systems to the nature of the site and the areas to be monitored:
- Laser detection: SICK and OPTEX systems (tunnels)
- Detection by image analysis: Agent Vi system with standard cameras (platforms) and thermal cameras (roofs)
- Definition and supply of field equipment (cameras and detectors)
- Participation in deployment and commissioning in collaboration with our partner
Client benefits
Assystem enabled the client to benefit from :
- Implementation of a centralised system
- Increasing in the capacity of protected sites integrated in the system
- Increasing the efficiency of the detection system (reduction in the number of false alarms)
- Optimising the response time to alarms
- Reducing the costs of maintaining the property assets
