Research & Development projects
Assystem, a ConnexlTy programme partner
In June 2017, industrial partners in the French nuclear industry joined forces to develop an ambitious research and design programme to integrate major innovations into designing and implementing a means of piloting and preparing nuclear power plant construction sites.
Assystem is one of the consortium's partner companies. The ConnexITy programme has been built on an industry-wide approach, through the implementation of several high-leverage concept demonstrators to bring together project stakeholders to simplify the operation and design of nuclear power plants.
Assystem, a trusted partner in the development and deployment of artificial intelligence and associated applications for engineering
The partnership between EDF's technical department and Assystem aims to promote the development of demonstrators based on artificial intelligence technologies use cases.
Ci2ANum project: selected by the French State as the winner of the call for projects of the Industrial Recovery Plan
Assystem and Andra (French National Agency for Radioactive Waste Management) are partners on the innovative Ci2ANum project to support the digital transformation of Andra's storage centres using digital twins.
"We are proud to work alongside our Digital teams on this project in partnership with Andra, which aims to develop a multi-scale, scalable, and robust industrial infrastructure. Ci2ANum is a concrete, innovative, and ambitious project that meets the challenges of digital transformation of the nuclear industry and should help maintain and strengthen its operational performance over the long term," said Olivier Vincent, Sales Director for Dismantling and Nuclear Waste Management at Assystem.
UKAEA - digital twin and simulation
A consortium of nuclear fusion experts, led by Atkins and Assystem, has been appointed by the UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) as the engineering services delivery partner for its pioneering STEP (Spherical Tokamak for Energy Production) programme, which aims to demonstrate the commercial viability of fusion energy. - CIME INDUSTRIAL CHAIR - Critical Infrastructures Model-based system Engineering
In June 2019, Assystem signed up to support a 5-year research and development programme. This programme was set up in collaboration between Assystem, IMT Mines Alès (via the Computer Engineering and Production Engineering Laboratory, LGI2P) and the Mines-Alès Foundation under the aegis of the Mines-Télécom Foundation.
The aim of this industrial chair is to help collaborators work more effectively together, enhancing understanding of risks and hazards and considering the increasingly stringent requirements of the various stakeholders in a large-scale project. The aim is to focus on projects that involve designing, validating, qualifying, operating and then dismantling end-of-life critical infrastructures in the nuclear and transportation sectors, which may involve French and international regulatory authorities.
This industrial chair aims to anticipate the future skills and methodologies that will be required for the development of future nuclear critical infrastructure projects.
