We are also supporting the modernisation and development of energy grids, managing the setup and siting for new transmission and distribution networks, and using hydrogen to decarbonise the transport and industry sectors.


 


Job Description

The Wet Utilities Engineer – Infrastructure/Building Permitting will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and approving building permit applications with a focus on wet utilities such as water supply, sewage, irrigation, gas and stormwater management systems. The role requires a thorough understanding of local regulations, standards, and best practices to ensure that proposed building projects comply with all necessary requirements. The engineer will work closely with other municipal departments, developers and the stakeholders to facilitate the efficient processing of permits.

Key Responsibilities:
– Review Infrastructure/building permit applications and plans to ensure compliance with local regulations (NWC,MEWA,SBC) related to wet utilities.
– Analyze and evaluate the design and specifications of water supply, sewage, irrigation, gas and stormwater management systems for proposed Infrastructure / building projects.
– Provide technical guidance and support to applicants, developers, and the stakeholders regarding wet utilities requirements and standards.
– Conduct site inspections as necessary to verify compliance with approved plans and permits.
– Coordinate with other municipal departments and agencies to ensure integrated and comprehensive review of permit applications.
– Respond to applicant inquiries and provide information regarding infrastructure/building permitting processes and requirements.
– Maintain accurate records of permit applications, reviews, and approvals.
– Participate in meetings and provide technical expertise to support decision-making processes.
 

My profile

Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
– 2-4 years of experience. 
– Strong knowledge of water supply, sewage, irrigation, gas and stormwater management systems.
– can join in less than one month.
