Job Description

The Structural Design Engineer (Power sector) is a critical role responsible for ensuring the structural integrity and safety of power plant facilities. This position demands a high level of expertise and attention to detail in all aspects of structural engineering within the thermal power sector.

  1. Structural Analysis and Design: Conduct rigorous structural steel and reinforced concrete analysis and design for industrial buildings and structures in various power projects (Thermal / Nuclear). 
  2. Software Proficiency: Demonstrate advanced proficiency in analytical software such as STAAD, SAFE, ETABS, and SAP etc.. Accurate utilization of these tools is essential for precise structural calculations and design optimization.
  3. Code Compliance: Familiar with various codes and standards such as IS codes, American, British, and European codes for both domestic and international projects. 
  4. Design Review: Conduct thorough and critical reviews of multiple projects, identifying potential structural issues and proposing effective solutions. This responsibility is vital for maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
  5. Project Management: Oversee the entire design process from concept to completion with utmost diligence. Ensure strict adherence to project timelines and budgets, as any deviation can have significant financial and operational implications.
  6. Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Engage in close, professional collaboration with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery. Effective communication and coordination are crucial for project success.
  7. Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain rigorous quality control measures throughout the design and construction phases. Ensure unwavering compliance with safety standards and regulations, as this is paramount in the power industry.
  8. Experience in Design of critical structures like cooling towers and chimneys, Turbine foundations etc…will be given preference.
  9. Leadership: Demonstrate strong leadership qualities as a Reviewer/Lead Engineer in multi-disciplinary EPC projects. The ability to guide and mentor team members is crucial for project success and team development.
  10. Communication: Maintain clear, concise, and professional verbal and written communication at all times. Effective reporting and collaboration are essential for project coordination and stakeholder management.
  11. Problem-Solving: Employ advanced analytical skills to efficiently troubleshoot and resolve complex design and construction issues. Quick and effective problem-solving is critical to maintaining project timelines and ensuring structural integrity.

My profile

Minimum Qualification – BE / Btech. in Civil /Structural engineering. Masters degree will be preferable.

Years of Experience – 8-12 Years

Should have good understanding work commintments
