Job Description

Senior Mechanical Engineer to support a major Defence Infrastructure projects. Key duties will be to develop work scopes, develop requirements and perform assurance activities associated with engineering and site implementation.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Project engineering of work packages
  • Developing work scopes for systems
  • Elicitation and development of user/system requirements
  • Reviewing contractor design documentation (including mechanical engineering drawings)
  • Reviewing contractor documentation associated with site implementation activities
  • Interfacing with stakeholders and contractors
  • Attending meetings and design reviews
  • Preparation and delivery of engineering presentations
  • Responding to TQs and resolution of engineering problems

 

My profile

Qualification, Special Skills or Experience:

    • Experienced in project engineering of work packages, including site implementation/ integration, within an operational and highly regulated environment.
    • Experience of working fully autonomously and as part of a team
    • Relevant experience within the civil nuclear or pharmaceuticals industries is desirable.
    • Chartered Engineer status or able to attain chartered status (demonstration of continued professional development).
    • Qualification to degree level in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline.
    • Must have a proactive and self-motivated approach to engineering
    • Experience of complying with legislation and Standards in a highly regulated industry
    • Experience in the substantiation of mechanical components
    • Experienced in producing technical reports

Security Clearance

Due to the nature of this role we will require the successful candidate to be a sole British passport holder and to be able to acquire Security Clearance.
