The role requires expertise in both softscape and hardscape design, project management skills, and the ability to independently lead multidisciplinary teams in the development of innovative, sustainable, and culturally sensitive landscape solutions.

The Senior Landscape Architect will take a lead role in designing public parks, streetscapes, roadways, and large-scale urban and architectural projects, ensuring the highest level of client satisfaction by delivering functional, aesthetically pleasing, sustainable, and code-compliant designs. This role demands strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to meet project goals within allocated budgets and deadlines, while maintaining compliance with local regulations and international standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take the lead in designing both hard and soft landscapes for architectural, urban design, and competition projects.
  • Create and manage detailed designs for planting plans, grading, irrigation, and hardscape layouts.
  • Develop high-quality presentation drawings, renderings, 3D models, and animations using industry-standard software such as Lumion, SketchUp, Revit, and AutoCAD.
  • Collaborate with internal design teams and external consultants to create innovative and sustainable design solutions.
  • Research and promote the use of indigenous and suitable vegetation for projects, addressing environmental and cultural considerations.
  • Manage all aspects of assigned projects, including supervising staff, setting project deliverables, and ensuring that budgets and schedules are met.
  • Work closely with Project Managers and the Landscape Design Manager to allocate resources effectively and ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Lead internal discipline coordination meetings to ensure seamless collaboration across teams.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, government authorities, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with project objectives and client satisfaction.
  • Integrate sustainable practices, including water-efficient landscapes, xeriscaping, and climate-adaptive designs, into all projects.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of local flora, fauna, and materials, with an understanding of their availability and applications in regional construction.
  • Address environmental challenges such as desertification, soil stabilization, and water scarcity in design solutions.
  • Prepare technical packages from concept design through to tender and contract documentation, ensuring compliance with local and international standards.
  • Provide technical guidance to CADD designers, drafters, and junior team members.
  • Perform site analysis, including environmental, topographical, and hydrological assessments, to inform design decisions.
  • Conduct landscape architectural studies, develop design concepts, and prepare related reports and technical correspondence.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and deliver exceptional levels of client service and satisfaction.
  • Mentor and manage team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Proactively work toward achieving project financial goals and maintaining profitability.
  • Provide production assistance and design support to other team members as required.
  • Manage sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Landscape Design Manager or Project Manager.

Experience and Skills:

  • Proven expertise in landscape architecture for large-scale projects, including public parks, streetscapes, urban developments, and infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working with PMC, consultancy, or developer clients.
  • Strong project management skills, including oversight of budgets, schedules, and project teams to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead the design process independently, from concept through to construction documentation.
  • Knowledge of landscape architectural design principles, including materials and methods, urban design, form, function, circulation, and design standards and codes.
  • Familiarity with international and local regulations, including LEED, SITES, and Saudi-specific codes (e.g., MOMRA, ADA).
  • Proficient in tools like:
    • Design Tools: AutoCAD, Revit, Lumion, SketchUp, Land F/X, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
    • Visualization Tools: 3ds Max, Enscape, Twinmotion, Grasshopper, and Rhino.

    • Knowledge in BIM (Building Information Modeling) and the ability to work within BIM workflows.
  • Expertise in developing planting plans, irrigation design, grading plans, construction detailing, and graphics.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a proactive approach.
  • Capacity to inspire and motivate team members to achieve their full potential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write technical documents and correspondence.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships in a diverse work environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and coordinate complex projects, ensuring timely and quality delivery.
  • Good knowledge of Saudi Arabia’s and GCC local flora, fauna, and regional construction technologies.
  • Familiarity with Saudi Vision 2030 objectives and their implications for landscape architecture and urban design.

Core Competencies:
