Job Description

Your future team:

Are you an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with a passion for medium to high voltage systems? We’re looking for someone like you to join a team of talented engineers working our most challenging and rewarding projects across a wide range of client portfolios and framework agreements.

Your missions:

As a Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in medium to high voltage systems, you’ll be at the forefront of designing and delivering cutting-edge electrical solutions from 33kV to 230VAC. Your expertise in high voltage distribution, protection, and control systems will be key in ensuring all projects comply with the highest industry standards and regulations. You will be required to:

⚡ Lead the design and delivery of electrical systems, focusing on medium to high voltage applications, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and best practices.

⚡ Produce detailed design deliverables, including specifications for transformers and switchboards, that meet project and client requirements.

⚡ Drive project success by preparing and securing high/medium voltage design jobs, contributing to bids and proposals, and showcasing our technical capabilities.

⚡ Collaborate closely with project teams, ensuring all design and delivery stages meet the project’s technical and safety requirements.

⚡ Inspire and guide a team of engineers, ensuring the timely and budget-conscious delivery of complex projects.

My profile

Qualifications/Skills to be successful:

🔹 Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.

🔹 Membership in a professional institution (e.g., IET) is required.

🔹 Chartered Engineer status is highly desirable.

🔹 Proven experience in designing high and medium voltage distribution, protection, and control systems.

🔹 Extensive knowledge of electrical regulations, standards, and best practices, particularly in regulated industries.

🔹 A track record of successfully leading and mentoring electrical engineers through the design and delivery process.

🔹 Demonstrated ability to prepare winning bids for high voltage design projects, highlighting both technical and commercial strengths.

🔹 Proficiency in electrical design tools like AMTECH/Trimble, ETAP, and SKM.

🔹 Experience with Naval electrical systems and MoD standards is highly desirable.

Permanent Staff position but umbrella contractors considered

The role would typically be expected to be conducted in a hybrid arrangement from either the Sunderland office (preferred) Glasgow office, Derby office or Blackburn office

BPSS required to start but SC needed thereafter.  Sole UK nationals only.
