Job Description

🚀 The Job Mission

As part of the Electrical & I&C Team, you will work on the Hinkley Point C (HPC) project, playing a key role in delivering crucial testing and commissioning documents. Your mission will include preparing test procedures, supporting I&C function tests in France, and ensuring the proper test coverage for electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

⚡️ Develop and validate Platform Test Procedures (PTP), Sufficiency Analysis Notes (SAN), System Commissioning Programmes (SCP), and Commissioning Procedures (CP) for the operational control system
⚡️ Conduct sufficiency analysis to ensure full coverage of safety functions assigned to systems
⚡️ Ensure design documentation, engineering methods, standards, and commissioning documentation are adhered to
⚡️ Coordinate and produce deliverables in line with client engineering standards, considering OPEX from other EPR projects
⚡️ Monitor commissioning deliverables from contractors and ensure compliance with project standards
⚡️ Support I&C function tests at the test bay in France and assess the test results
⚡️ Manage risks by recording them in the relevant register and proposing mitigation plans
⚡️ Report on progress, ensuring timely completion of deliverables while adhering to schedules and budgets
⚡️ Store and manage deliverables and associated study files in the EDMS (Electronic Document Management System)

Due to the nature of the role, the working location will be split between Bristol, Bridgwater, and frequent travels to France.

My profile

Required Skills and Qualifications:

🛠 Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
🛠 Minimum of 10 years’ experience in power generation or process industries, preferably with regulatory constraints
🛠 Experience in drafting mechanical and monitoring equipment testing guidelines and procedures
🛠 Functional knowledge of electrical systems, including the following:

  • 220V DC Uninterruptible Power Supply System
  • 10kV/690V/400V Normal and Emergency Power Supply Systems
  • Diesel Generator Systems
    🛠 Ability to read and understand I&C logic diagrams
    🛠 Experience in commissioning or procedure development is a plus
    🛠 Capability to coordinate technical topics across engineering disciplines (mechanical, fluid/HVAC, I&C) and suppliers
    🛠 Excellent writing skills, with an emphasis on drafting test procedures and technical documentation
    🛠 Strong teamwork and collaboration skills in an international, multicultural environment
