Your Mission:

Working in a business critical role with our Security Team,  the Security Vetting Assistant will play a vital role in onboarding and ensuring security clearance for all staff and contractors.

Location: Blackburn (preferred), Derby, or Sunderland with hybrid working (2/3 days in the office).

Key Responsibilities:

• 📄 Process vetting applications for staff and contractors.
• 💬 Provide support and advice on all types of vetting.
• ⏳ Monitor existing clearances and ensure timely renewals.
• 📝 Advise on policy changes related to vetting.
• 🔍 Liaise with external agencies for security clearances.
• 🔒 Manage personnel security risks with thorough checks.
• 📞 Act as the main contact for vetting and security inquiries.
• 🚨 Support incident reporting and follow-up actions.
• 📊 Assist with internal and external vetting audits.
• 🗂 Provide vetting info for security reports.
• 🎫 Issue site access passes to staff.
• 🤝 Collaborate with other teams for timely onboarding. 

Profile:

Qualifications and Experience:

• 💻 Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• 🗂 Previous experience in a similar vetting role.
