Job Description

🚀 The Job Mission

As a Principal Simulation and Assessment Engineer, you’ll lead high-impact projects and act as a key technical authority to ensure safety, compliance, and performance in critical systems. Join your future team to influence strategic decisions and drive innovation across diverse missions.

Key responsibilities include:

⚡️ Lead structural integrity assessments using Finite Element Analysis and hand calculations.

⚡️ Oversee and approve contributions to customer safety cases.

⚡️ Represent Assystem as a technical authority in senior-level customer meetings.

⚡️ Mentor, supervise, and develop engineering teams to drive technical excellence.

⚡️ Manage project delivery, ensuring alignment with quality, cost, and time objectives.

⚡️ Contribute to bids, proposals, and business development initiatives.

⚡️ Shape and enforce adherence to quality and assurance systems.

⚡️ Build and maintain strong customer relationships for strategic business growth.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills:
🛠 Degree in engineering with extensive experience in structural integrity assessments.
🛠 Chartered Engineer (CEng) status, demonstrating professional development commitment.
🛠 Expertise in leading and delivering complex engineering projects.
🛠 Advanced proficiency in FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS, ABAQUS) and pressure vessel codes.
🛠 Proven skills in mentoring and supervising engineering teams.
🛠 Exceptional communication for senior-level customer interactions.
🛠 Strong commercial awareness and budgetary management experience.

Desired Skills:
✔️ Experience in regulated industries (e.g., nuclear, defence, aerospace).
✔️ Knowledge of fatigue, degradation mechanisms, and environmental fatigue analysis.
✔️ Familiarity with Altair Hyperworks or similar tools.
✔️ Advanced knowledge of international standards and codes (e.g., ASME, BS7910).
✔️ Integration of structural integrity with other technical disciplines (e.g., CFD).
