Job Description
🚀 The Job Mission
Sizewell C’s team is exploring a major shift in pipework construction, aiming to move 70% of welding off-site. Your future team will analyse the detailed design to identify opportunities for prefabrication and modular construction. If successful, this role will transition into delivering the technical scope.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting detailed room-by-room analysis of SZC’s design to identify prefabrication opportunities.
- Developing and justifying proposals for transferring site welds off-site, aligned with the construction schedule.
- Applying validated criteria and rules to ensure feasibility and compliance.
- Navigating and interrogating CAD models, including Navisworks, to optimize design layouts.
- Collaborating with engineers, designers, and construction planners to ensure manufacturability.
- Reviewing and approving work, depending on experience, ensuring adherence to high-quality standards.
- Identifying and addressing potential blockers while maintaining compliance with regulations.
- Championing Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) best practices and nuclear safety culture.

🛠 Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
- Experience in pipework design layout and modularization for construction efficiency.
- Proficiency in CAD model navigation, particularly using Navisworks.
- Understanding of pipework construction methodologies in regulated environments.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality work with a “right-first-time” mindset.
✔️ Desired Skills and Experience
- Experience in pipework installation or construction planning for EPR, nuclear, or oil & gas projects.
- Familiarity with HPC Detailed Design and Execution Design processes.
- Knowledge of RCC-M regulations.
- Awareness of CDM Regulations.
