PES Engineer Senior/ Principal – Permanent / Contract (inside IR35)

Assystem is a well-established leader in the nuclear decommissioning sector, partnering with the Design Services Alliance and providing waste management services to strategic nuclear clients in the UK. We also offer life extension and feasibility assessment services.
🚀 Your Missions
As a Lead PES Engineer, you’ll deliver project PES deliverables tailored to ISO 15288 (SL QMS, standards, and guides) and lead the PES delivery for Technical Processes in the V-model. Your responsibilities include:
- 📋 Production of User Requirement Specifications
- 🔧 Production of Functional Requirement Specifications
- 🔄 Production Sequence Interlock Diagrams
- 🖥️ Production of Graphic Requirements and User Interface Requirement Specifications
- 🔐 Managing Cyber Security Reviews and producing Cyber Security Justification Reports
- 🎛️ Panel Design Requirements
- 🏗️ Installation Design Requirements
- 📝 Production of EOs and Tender Packages for allocated projects
- 🤝 Collaborating closely with the supply chain and system integrators, providing guidance and support
- 🔍 Reviewing supply chain and system integrators’ deliverables, ensuring quality and fit-for-purpose designs
- 🧪 Overseeing System Testing as a client lead

🎓 Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- 💼 Experience delivering Programmable Electronic Systems (PES) in accordance with SL PES Standards, from design to implementation
- 🗣️ Strong stakeholder management skills
Desirable:
- 💻 Experience with C# applications
- 📸 Experience with camera systems, especially spherical cameras
- 🗂️ Data management for images
- 🔧 Experience with new system development with Sellafield Information Services Organisation (ISO)
- 🌍 Geospatial data management systems
- 🔐 Cyber Security of Windows-based systems
- 🐳 Understanding of Docker-based containerised software systems
Security clearance:
Due to the nature of work to be undertaken applicants will be required to meet certain residency criteria in order to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance if not already security cleared to a minimum SC level.
