Job Description

Cataloging Coordination:

Coordinate and oversee the cataloging of technical data packages, including spare parts, equipment, and systems, ensuring all elements are accurate, up-to-date, and properly recorded.

Review and ensure all cataloged items meet internal and external standards and requirements, working closely with design and engineering teams.

Develop and implement efficient cataloging workflows and ensure adherence to project timelines, specifications, and quality standards.

Oversee the management of technical documentation and ensure that all cataloged data is complete and easily accessible for future reference.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

Work closely with engineering, procurement, design, and maintenance teams to ensure that cataloging tasks are aligned with project needs and timelines.

Serve as the main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders related to cataloging tasks, addressing any inquiries or issues related to data accuracy or cataloging procedures.

Facilitate communication between cross-functional teams to ensure smooth and effective data exchange and documentation updates.

Quality Control & Data Integrity:

Perform regular quality checks on catalogued data and documentation to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance with project specifications.

Identify and resolve discrepancies or gaps in catalogued data, ensuring all necessary technical details are included and correctly entered into the database or system.

Ensure proper version control and data management practices are maintained for all catalogued materials.

Process Improvement & Documentation:

Continuously review and improve cataloguing processes, workflows, and standards to enhance efficiency, data integrity, and alignment with organizational goals.

Document and maintain cataloguing procedures and guidelines to ensure consistency and clarity across the department.

Maintain records of cataloguing activities and generate reports as needed for project tracking and status updates.

System Management:

Utilize cataloguing and data management systems (such as SAP, Maximo, or similar) to input and manage technical data and ensure smooth operation of the cataloguing database

Ensure catalogued data is properly categorized and tagged, making it easy for team members to retrieve information as needed.

Work with IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve system issues related to cataloging platforms and ensure the ongoing functionality of the system.

 

My profile

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in cataloging, technical data management, or project coordination within an engineering, design, or technical environment.

Job-Specific Skills:

Strong understanding of cataloging systems, databases, and data management tools.

Experience with technical documentation and data entry, particularly in engineering or design-based environments.

Proficient in using data management software (e.g., SAP, Maximo, or similar systems).

Solid understanding of technical drawings, schematics, P&IDs, and equipment

Specifications.

Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems and other engineering tools is a plus.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve discrepancies or issues in technical data.

Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for cataloguing.
