Job Description

Assystem Energy & Infrastructure are recruiting for a Design Technician / Draughtsperson to work at our customers site in Thurso on a contract basis.

Role details: 

Job title: Design Technician / Draughtsperson 

Contract length: 6 months +

Location: Thurso

Contract type: PAYE via Umbrella solution

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Development of simple design solutions from requirements through concept design to detailed design.
  • Interpretation of customer requirements.
  • Planning and implementation of standard design processes.
  • Production of output using CAD software.
  • Represent department on a technical basis at meetings.
  • Provide assistance and technical advice on request.
  • To assist design staff in the output of designs.
  • Process designs through design authorisation process for implementation.
  • Technical checking of drawings.
  • Adherence to the Rolls-Royce Quality System and site process in design activities.
  • Act in accordance with the Company’s policy on Health, Safety, Environment, Quality and Equal Opportunities

My profile

Qualifications and Experience:

  • HNC or equivalent qualification and/or completed an apprenticeship in the related discipline.
  • 12 months relevant experience.

**Security clearance**

This role requires the successful candidate to hold a minimum of a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance.

Due to the nature of work this role will be delivering and for the protection of certain assets, the successful candidate has to be a UK national or in MoD approved cases a Dual National from a non-ITAR country.
