Job Description

Your future team:

A significant programme of infrastructure investment and development is required on the Client site. The Dock design team is undertaking design on upgrading the existing dock to meet modern standards and support a Deep Maintenance Programme.

Your missions:

We are seeking a Design Manager to support the delivery of services and mechanical handling equipment within the Client.

Services: All new mechanical and electrical services to support the requirements of the upgraded Dock Facility.

Mechanical Handling Equipment: This includes a gantry/goliath crane, fixed pedestal cranes, and alternative mechanical handling equipment for moving smaller loads around the facility.

What will you be doing?

• 📈 Lead and manage services and mechanical handling design packages for the Dock Facility, ensuring requirements are met through the design process.

• 📂 Manage deliverables through the Client Design process and Technical Governance process to ensure quality and consistency.

• 🔄 Integrate with other design disciplines to ensure a coordinated Facility design is delivered.

My profile

Experience:

• 🔧 Design of services and mechanical handling equipment through the design process, with experience in requirements substantiation.

• 📚 Knowledge of services and lifting techniques, processes, etc., within a facility-based production environment.

• 🏗️ Design of conventional services and mechanical handling equipment to support production activities, with a focus on materials handling and flow.

📜 This post requires a Degree in a relevant discipline and Chartered Membership of an appropriate Institution.

💡 The post sits on the nuclear baseline, so an understanding of the site licence/authorisation conditions would be highly beneficial.

Qualifications

• 🎓 Degree in a relevant discipline.

• 🎓 Chartered Membership of an appropriate Institution.

• 🧠 Understanding of site licence/authorisation conditions (highly beneficial).

Additional Information

📅 Attendance on site: On average, one week in four. This frequency may increase as the project moves from design to manufacture/construction – Q1 2025.

✈️ Travel: Required on an average bi-weekly basis to visit designers/suppliers.

🇬🇧 Eligibility: Sole UK Nationals only, SC clearance required.
