Job Description

The Business Resource Manager works within a UK team of Resource Managers and plays a key part within the business ensuring that our projects are fully resourced with suitably qualified and experienced people for the workload today and the expected workload of tomorrow.

The role covers every aspect of resource management.  Working with department budget holders and Heads of Discipline to identify the resources necessary to successfully complete projects, liaising with customers and business stakeholder to mobilise people onto projects, using resource planning software to record how people are assigned, engaging our internal recruitment teams when we need additional resource, interviewing and selection, inductions, management of chargeable time and non-chargeable time, managing training time, forecasting, monitoring progress and reporting. 

You will be responsible for ensuring that the workforce contribute to the success of the business by meeting the budget objectives.  Specific responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Resource planning. Capturing project requirements and using the company software to map the projects and the deployment of associated resources.
  • Identifying available resources to the business to maximise their chargeable utilisation and manage to budget.
  • Organising project transitions with internal stakeholders and associated customers
  • Involvement with the recruitment team in the selection and interview of candidates to support the growth of the business.
  • In conjunction with budget holders, create and manage plans that detail the non-chargeable activities and the associated time.
  • Forecasting resource utilisation, non-chargeable time, and available resources
  • Working with Heads of Discipline(s) to identify best athletes for projects and bids.
  • Working with the Learning and Development lead to ensure training plans are in place and managed in line with budget.
  • Ensuring that chargeable candidates are financially and logistically suitable.
  • Completing new starter inductions, setting up the associated induction training material and mobilising resources onto projects
  • Liaison with customers and identifying resource demands.
  • Creating role specifications
  • Liaison between our recruitment team and new starters to ensure the introduction to the business is a great experience.
  • Point of contact and co-ordination for our contract resource
  • Maintaining supporting documentation such as headcount reports, organisation charts and contact lists.
  • Forecasting and performance reporting
  • Creating the department plan for the year
  • Liaising with other department for resource availability and requirements
  • Representing Assystem within Frameworks
  • Setting out the financial terms for new recruits into the business

My profile

Qualifications

Minimum of UK qualification level 4 or a level 3 qualification with substantial relevant experience.

Working towards professional affiliation or a relevant institution. For example, CMI, CIPD or IOM. Preferably at least a foundation member / member.

The successful candidate will have been operating within a resource management function having tangible relevant experience and responsibility for resource planning, recruitment & selection.

This role requires the successful candidate to hold a minimum of BPSS
