Assystem, as part of KAD Nuclear, will provide engineering and project management services to support the delivery of a major infrastructure programme, following a contract award from the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO).

In May 2020 Assystem, in partnership with KBR and Doosan Babcock, was one of three suppliers selected by the DIO to join the new Nuclear Technical Support Provider (NTSP) framework, operating under the name of KAD Nuclear.

NTSP will support the Clyde Infrastructure Programme (CIP) and wider Royal Navy and defence requirements by providing engineering and project management services for the naval base infrastructure upgrade, as well as specialist nuclear technical services under a programme valued between £250 and £400 million.

In this first substantial package of work on the framework, KAD Nuclear will deliver the Management Services Package part of the contract, in support of the Faslane Nuclear Infrastructure Continuous Availability Project (FNICAP), with the scope including services to extend the design life of key facilities and maintain operations.

Matt Gallimore, Assystem’s Chief Sales Officer said: “To secure such a major and important contract as KAD Nuclear is a testament to the capabilities each partner brings.

“We look forward to working collaboratively with our framework partners to deliver this essential programme of work at HMNB Clyde.”
