Assystem to support construction of PAKS II nuclear power plant as partner of MVM ERBE

Assystem, the No2 nuclear engineerning company in the world, has been awarded a 3 year framework contract by MVM ERBE ENERGETIKA Zrt. for the delivery of engineering services for two new units at the Paks ll Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) in Hungary.
The new deal, signed at the World Nuclear Exhibition in Paris, marks the next phase of progress on the Paks II new-build project, which is one of the cornerstones of Hungary’s National Energy Strategy 2030.
In Hungary, nuclear energy is the main contributor to electricity production and the extension of the Paks NPP with two new VVER-1200 units will provide the bulk of the domestic generating capacity needed in the future.

For this framework, Assystem will deliver services related to the implementation, operation of the new nuclear power plant units, including the provision of site studies, documentation and design.
The Paks II expansion will comprise two new units, 5 and 6, at the Paks site, they will have a capacity of 1,200MW each and are scheduled for commissioning in 2029 and 2030.
