Assystem, an international nuclear engineering company, has been awarded the new ISO 19443 certification by SGS for its nuclear new build support activities in France. The company becomes one of the first independent engineering companies to certify its nuclear activities to the highest existing nuclear quality standards.

Mastering compliance with nuclear safety and quality requirements is a major challenge for the industry in the context of the development of future nuclear power plant programmes in France and around the world. With this certification, Assystem confirms its commitment to supporting the industry in its current and future projects, by contributing its historical and international experience and its ability to provide services to the highest quality standards. Obtaining ISO 19443 certification distinguishes Assystem's ability to contribute actively and sustainably to the industry's actors.

"Nuclear safety culture is essential to the success of our projects and the search for excellence is one of our values. Obtaining this certification for our new construction support activities is a concrete expression of our desire and commitment to the continuous improvement of our nuclear expertise. We plan to extend this ISO 19443 certification to our other nuclear activities soon," says Marie Pierre Henninger, Assystem's Nuclear Quality Director.

"We are proud to have supported Assystem in their certification process. This is the first ISO 19943 certificate that we are pleased to award globally at SGS. It consolidates our expertise and strengthens our presence in the nuclear industry." Philippe Fusiller, Institutional Relations Director, SGS Group
